A vacancy for a Product Owner - Trajectory Optimizer (TrajOpt) has risen within Airbus India in Bangalore. You will join the Airline Sciences team within the Digital department.
The Airline Sciences team is part of the Airbus Digital department. It is composed of engineers, data scientists, developers, business analysts from all around the world.
Its objective is to act as an advisor to bring airline operational representability in all Airbus activities (pre-design, detailed design, marketing, guarantees, services). By combining aircraft models, simulations, operational research, data analytics and artificial intelligence, the Airline Sciences team is able to deliver realistic aircraft performances, network schedules and cost evaluation. By analyzing historical data (weather conditions, navigation database and airport data), the Airline Sciences team can precisely match real world conditions and provide the most accurate airline model.
Following best IT practices and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), the Airline Sciences team developed the Airline Digital Twin, a web application and API hosted on AWS, that can be used across all Airbus divisions. Working toward the same objectives, Airline Sciences is divided into multifunctional teams gathering business specialists, engineers and developers. Another team, fully IT, is responsible for the CI / CD processes and infrastructure of the application, as well as providing support to the other teams.
As a Product Owner - TrajOpt, you will serve as a highly specialised product lead responsible for contributing to the product vision and roadmap, driving continuous improvement, connecting with customers for business needs, owning the product backlog, supporting value-delivery and get/give feedback. You will be the reference point and you will drive the product development in Airbus India.
We are looking for a high energy, team player interested in joining a team of Product Owners/Managers, data scientists, developers, and business experts.
This position will report to a Group Manager within Airbus India. Passion for technology and problem solving are a must have.

Bachelor/Master Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or any relevant field with 8-10 years of overall experience
Core roles & responsibilities:
Lead the TrajOpt Product Team under the Airline Sciences scope from D&IM India
Responsible for the end to end Product Lifecycle Management of TrajOpt
Support the Product Manager by defining, simplifying and detailing the User Stories derived from Epics / Features
Understanding the business need of the product and supporting the Product Manager in Product Strategy and Roadmap definition
Helping the development team understand the business need behind the User Stories and Tasks and convert the functional needs into technical requirements
Build and support the operational processes related to the Product Lifecycle and provide the right inputs to the Change Control Board in terms of defects/issues, its impact and resolution strategy/priority
Ensures that the known Product/Application or Service vision is translated into a prioritized backlog in alignment with the Product Manager.
Manage and prioritise the Product Backlog for TrajOpt, along with the Product Manager
Supporting the Product Team in Delivering Value through TrajOpt Product
Responsible for Continuous Improvement through Testing and Continuous Release Management.
Proactively and frequently, received, apply and provide feedback to all stakeholders related to TrajOpt Product
Participate and Facilitate some of the common PI ceremonies like PO/PM Sync-up, Epic Assessment and Prioritization and also product-specific ones like Backlog Refinement Sessions, Features assessment and dividing them further into User stories, etc.
Accountable for designing and reporting key metrics and performance indicators related to the Product to the management team
Accountable for driving the Performance monitoring activities for the related products
Competencies:
MUST Have:
Working experience on Agile and SAFe methodologies / willing to upskill rapidly on the same
Knowledge and experience as a Product Owner on IT product / applications for at least 3-4 years for a multinational organisation
Good IT skills on medium to large scale products and applications related to - development, testing, Code Configuration Management, Software Development Lifecycle
Experience and expertise on the Aerospace domain related Software products, aerospace domain knowledge, etc.
Experience with AWS S3, ECS, SQL Database management, Java or C++ preferred
Knowledge on Airbus aircraft models/variants
Knowledge on or systems related to Aircraft trajectory, Aircraft Performance, Navigation Database, Flight Panning Regulations, data and inputs related to the same, navigational systems / data, etc.
Quality management (agile preferred)
Resource and Stakeholder Management experience
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
GOOD TO HAVE
Product Management skills
SAFe PO/PM Trained and/or Certified
AGILE for Project Management (2 - Autonomous Level)
Project Management Fundamentals (2 - Autonomous Level)
French knowledge will be an added value
