The Maples is currently seeking a qualified and compassionate PRN Therapist to join our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This position offers flexible hours and a supportive work environment, ideal for professionals committed to providing high-quality behavioral health services

What does the PRN Therapist do?(including but not limited to)  

As a PRN Therapist at our mental health residential treatment facility, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic support and clinical services to individuals in our care. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will help develop and implement personalized treatment plans that foster emotional well-being, promote recovery, and support each client’s journey toward long-term stability. 

 

Responsibilities 
Essential duties and responsibilities
(including but not limited to)  

  • Provides direct care to clients utilizing the core competencies of addiction counseling and/or mental health counseling.
  • Serves as a resource person for other professionals in his/her specific area of expertise.
  • Co-signs all notes written by students, interns, and unlicensed professionals under his/her supervision.
  • Assists with any family related issues, conflicts, evaluations, and other follow up as needed.
  • Prepares for and facilitates weekly groups/activities with residents.
  • Prepares and writes notes or other documents related to treatment and recovery (e.g., assessment, progress notes, treatment plans, discharge, etc.) within 48 hours of intervention/contact.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as required.

 
Qualifications
 

  • Master's degree in social work or counseling from an accredited university or equivalent education in the treatment of addictive disorders.
  • Maintains a current and unrestricted license with his/her respective professional board or licensing authority in the state of Louisiana.

 

Physical Demands:  

This job requires employees to have a full range of physical capabilities, including the ability to handle and lift patients, demonstrate manual and finger dexterity, and maintain good eye-hand coordination. Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift and carry items up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing within the normal range are also required. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential job functions.
