The Patient Access Specialist serves as a key point of contact for patients and families. In this role, you’ll support a positive patient experience by assisting with registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and basic financial processes while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
This is an entry-level opportunity that offers on-the-job training and exposure to healthcare operations.
A Day in the Life of
As a Patient Access Specialist, you’ll start your day greeting and assisting patients in person or by phone. You’ll help register patients, schedule appointments, and verify insurance information while entering accurate data into our systems.
Throughout the day, you’ll explain co‑pays or other financial responsibilities as needed, protect patient confidentiality, and work closely with clinical and administrative teams to keep patient flow running smoothly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Basic computer skills
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality
