Job Description
TITLE: Maintenance Technician
BARGAINING UNIT/SALARY RANGE: MSEA Support Services Unit, Range 12 $20.33-$22.03/hourly
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for monitoring, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical, energy management systems, mechanical building utility systems and equipment. This position will coordinate with energy management vendors for online and onsite installations, repairs, and services. The Maintenance Technician will be required to perform daily checks of mechanical systems and building inspections as well as conducting repairs and preventive maintenance tasks as needed. This position will help maintain outside groundskeeping duties such as cleaning walkways/entrances, maintaining lawns, snow and ice removal. The Maintenance Technician will also assist with general custodial care and minor carpentry repairs to help maintain facilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Vocational or technical training and/or certifications, a minimum of 2 years maintenance experience in a commercial setting.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have knowledge of maintenance and monitoring procedures related to plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical systems and fixtures. Skillset to operate various equipment such as but not limited to snow removal, lawn care, forklift and frontend loader. Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written directions and adhere to college policies, procedures and safety guidelines related to job duties.
