Role description:

The Supply & Demand Planning Manager is a key leader within the Production Planning organization, responsible for end-to-end demand and inventory planning. This role combines strong analytical and technical forecasting expertise with commercial acumen to optimize service levels, inventory, cost, and working capital. The role drives forecast accuracy, planning discipline, and continuous improvement while leveraging technology to support best-in-class planning capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Demand Planning & Forecasting

  • Develop and maintain a rolling baseline demand forecast spanning 0–36 months, with long-term visibility up to five years.
  • Identify, document, and communicate forecast assumptions, risks, opportunities, and insights.
  • Manage forecast variability and bias to continuously improve forecast accuracy.
  • Translate demand plans into volumetric and financial implications, supporting gap-closure actions.
  • Observe and analyze container glass market size and competitor landscape

Inventory Optimization

  • Supply Planning/RCCP medium-term to long-term (0 to 18 months, periodically 3 years)
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance service, cost, and cash flow.
  • Minimize stockouts and excess or slow-moving inventory.
  • Ensure short-term planning (STP) data quality and planning discipline.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with commercial teams to understand market developments and customer initiatives.
  • Capture and consolidate key market insights on a monthly basis.
  • Lead monthly demand reviews and strategic sales reviews.

Process Excellence & Transformation

  • Drive continuous improvement of planning processes.
  • Lead supply and demand planning transformation initiatives using advanced tools.
  • Monitor inventory and forecast KPIs and implement improvements.

Minimum skills / qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain Management or similar
  • Five (5) years of experience in demand planning or commercial including demand forecasting and analysis
  • Prior immersion in customer businesses and supply side operations (planning, manufacturing, logistics)
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications:  Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
  • Proven use of forecasting systems, analysis tools including ETL (extract, transform, load) tools
  • Effective theoretical knowledge of forecasting approaches; measurement systems; and risk evaluation

Preferred skills / qualifications:

  • Prior manufacturing experience
  • Experience with ERP and advanced planning systems (SAP/Blue Yonder preferred)
