CCBHC Veterans Recovery Support Specialist

The Veteran Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) uses their personal lived experience with the military and recovery from mental health or substance use challenges to provide non-clinical, peer-led support. As a key member of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) multidisciplinary team, this role helps fellow veterans navigate complex care systems, build resilience, and achieve self-directed recovery goals. The Peer Mentor/Recovery Support Specialist is an integral member of the behavioral health multi-disciplinary team. A CCBHC provides a full range of mental health and substance use services for children, adults, and families. The model focuses on coordinated, person-centered care and strong partnerships to help clients access the right services at the right time.
