Mission Community Hospital, a 145-bed acute care facility located in the San Fernando Valley, is currently searching for Full-Time, Day Shift, HR Assistant position for the HR Department.
Job Summary
The Human Resources Assistant provides comprehensive administrative support to the human resources department, ensuring the efficient delivery of processes and the accuracy of employee personnel records. The HR Assistant liaises closely with Payroll, Accounting and other departments throughout the organization providing a customer-focused and effective HR support service to achieve the organization’s goals and objectives.
Administrative
- Provide general administrative support such as filing electronic and hard copy documents; answer office telephones; and distribute/forward correspondence to appropriate staff.
- Respond to queries from managers, employees, and departments regarding benefits, certifications, hospital events, leaves of absence, etc.
- Assist Onboarding Coordinator with gathering pre-employment paperwork, identifying missing documents, and scheduling appointments.
- Maintain personnel records, make copies, scan and send via required mail process.
- Provide support for New Hire Orientation, such as preparing packets, catering orders, and setting up the auditorium or zoom call for orientation.
- Assist Benefits Specialist with editing and updating employee status, job titles, benefits, and certifications in ADP.
- Serve as a liaison for Payroll, deliver all PARS, direct deposits, checks and other related documents to the Payroll department.
- Disassemble and file personnel records of terminated employees. Work with Payroll and Managers to collect termination paperwork.
- Provide support for office supplies and inventory.
- Communicate relevant information to walk-in job applicants.
- Assist Recruitment Manager with preparing for Quick Starts, scheduling appointments with candidates, and other projects as needed.
- Assemble new hire packets. Identify, follow up, and schedule employees missing their New Hire Orientation.
- Assist with tracking employees on medical leave of absence, worker’s compensation leave, and follow up with their benefits payments.
- Post flyers and distribute brochures as needed.
- Assist the HR staff for hospital events, benefits fair, and programs.
- Create badges for new hires or current employees requiring a replacement badge.
- Educate employees on HR Policies and Procedures.
Miscellaneous/Other
- Exercise individual judgment and discretion when dealing with HR issues. Escalate as necessary.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required
- Minimum of 5 years general office work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
- Maintains and demonstrates a high standard of attendance and punctuality
- Fire Card
Preferred
- AA degree in related field.
- Three years of HR-related experience.
