The Kaufman Dolowich Chicago office—recognized by U.S. News as one of the “Best Companies to Work For – Law Firms”—is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney to join our growing Insurance Coverage and Litigation Practice.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on sophisticated insurance coverage matters alongside highly respected practitioners representing national, regional, and international insurance carriers across a broad range of coverage lines.
Responsibilities
- Manage a full litigation caseload from inception through resolution
- Interpret insurance policies and draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and disclaimer letters
- Litigate insurance coverage matters, including handling depositions, motion practice, mediations, hearings, and trials
- Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic advice and regular case updates
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents
- Collaborate closely with attorneys across offices and practice groups to develop innovative, client-focused solutions

Qualifications
- 3+ years of insurance coverage and/or insurance coverage litigation experience
- Experience in the areas of professional liability, Directors & Officers (D&O), and/or financial institutions coverage preferred
- JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
- Admission to practice in Illinois required; Indiana admission is a plus
- Strong analytical, writing, research, and communication skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
Base Salary Range
$130,000 – $200,000

Actual compensation will be determined based on market location, experience, skills, and job-related qualifications. Base salary is one component of Kaufman Dolowich’s Total Rewards package, which also includes a discretionary and billable hours-based bonus program and comprehensive benefits for full-time employees.
