The Lactation Consultant is responsible for the overall management of the Lactation and Patient Education Program. The consultant coordinates breast pump rentals, facilitation of all childbirth education and lactation related classes, inpatient and outpatient consults, human donor milk program, and provides current oversite of education to antepartum and post-partum mothers, staff, physicians, and the community. The consultant provides direct patient care and works collaboratively with other team members, the physician, and the patient/family to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
