Job Description

Big Bend Hospice is seeking an experienced Advisory Council Liaison to oversee and support the activities of the Big Bend Hospice Advisory Council by ensuring it effectively contributes to the organization's goals and initiatives. Duties include facilitating council meetings, managing communication with members, supporting projects related to hospice care and community outreach within our 7 rural communities.

The ideal candidate for the Advisory Council Liaison position at Big Bend Hospice is a dynamic, community-oriented professional with a proven ability to build strong relationships and lead collaborative initiatives. They possess a bachelor’s degree or a minimum of four years of relevant experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospice setting, and demonstrate exceptional communication, organizational, and time management skills. This individual thrives in a mission-driven environment, is comfortable presenting to diverse audiences, and excels at identifying community needs and implementing effective solutions. With proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and a strong commitment to integrity, compassion, and accountability, the ideal candidate is passionate about advancing access to hospice and palliative care services. They are also willing to travel extensively throughout our rural service areas, serving as a trusted liaison between Big Bend Hospice and the communities we serve.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate advisory council meetings, ensuring productive discussions and follow-up on action items.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with council members and other stakeholders.
  • Support council activities related to advancing public awareness and expanding access to hospice and palliative care services.
  • Collaborate with the council and other staff to identify best practices for program implementation.
  • Assist in identifying community needs and service issues and develop plans to address them.
  • Help develop and implement operational plans, including timelines and outcomes measurement.
  • Oversee data collection and reporting for program evaluation and quality improvement.
  • Serve as a community liaison, representing BBH with organizations, stakeholders, and government entities.
  • Engage with the community to promote hospice services and recruit volunteers.
  • Research funding opportunities and assist with grant proposal development.
  • Support quality assurance and performance improvement processes.
  • Assist with budget management and resource allocation. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday: 8:00 am- 5:00 pm.

  • This role will have an approximate 50% travel requirement

Travel Requirement: You must have a reliable vehicle and be willing to be dispatched throughout our service areas.

 This position will cover the following counties: 

  • Gaddsen
  • Liberty
  • Leon
  • Wakulla
  • Madison
  • Jefferson
  • Franklin
  • Taylor

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, ideally in healthcare or hospice setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effectively present information to various audiences.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially excel.
  • Foster and maintain relationships within the community.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
