We are currently hiring a Warehouse Associate for our Post Falls Day Crew.

• Compensation: $20 per hour
• Schedule: Monday - Friday (Starting at 9:00 AM)

General Statement of Duties

This position is responsible for receiving, picking, sorting, stocking, and loading of product onto the trucks for all orders that are to be delivered. The primary function of an employee in this class is to perform the physical tasks associated to the selection and loading of product in accordance with established procedures. This is a physically demanding position that functions under direct supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor and has little latitude for independent direction in duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The primary function of an employee in this class is to perform the physical tasks associated to the receiving of product in the warehouse and selection and loading of product in accordance with established procedures. Other primary responsibilities include assisting in other areas of product movement processes as necessary and as illustrated below:

• Safety- Perform all duties in a safe manner as defined in the HBC safety policy.
• Forklift- Operate different kinds of forklifts and electric pallet jacks to move product to/from trucks and staged throughout the warehouse which includes vertical racks.
• Receiving- Follow receiving procedures to ensure inbound freight, transfers and all paperwork involved is complete and accurate.
• Stocking- Adequately fill and maintain the “pick” locations with product for production (night) crew.
• Organizing- Maintain product organization to ensure efficient and timely location of product by all crew members. Follow the computerized system and keep it updated to what is happening.
• Picking- Pick orders for all delivery routes going out the current or following day.
• Checking- The checker ensures that product has been pulled correctly in preparation of delivery.
• Stacking- Duty requires repetitive removal of product (cases) from the conveyer belt to be placed on a pallet, building it up to required height and wrapping the pallet with plastic film so that it can be staged for loading.
• Staging- Moving the product after it has been checked and organizing so that it can be properly loaded.
• Loading- Loading the product that has been picked onto trucks to be delivered current or the next day.
• Cleanliness- Constantly maintaining the overall cleanliness and order of the warehouse and the surrounding areas.
• Inventory- tracking and confirming inventory.
• All other- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Duties are subject to change at the discretion of HBC, to accommodate the changes and needs of the industry and our customers.
• Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrate the ability to follow directions and with necessary attention to detail.
• Demonstrate the ability to successfully function as a member of a team through communication while engaging in self-directed resourcefulness.
• Demonstrate the ability to be certified on lift truck equipment.
• Drug and/or alcohol testing- Successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug test with a negative result for the presence of controlled substances to be accepted for employment with the Company.
• Participate and pass random drug tests in accordance with the Company’s established Drug Free Workplace programs.
• Background – Ability to pass criminal background and employment reference check.

 

 

Essential Physical Abilities

• Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, communicating effectively with others in person and by telephone.
• Sufficient visual and mental acuity which permits the employee to comprehend written and verbal work instructions and make determination of necessary actions to take to comply with hygiene and appearance standards for the facility. Uniforms may be provided and when provided must be worn in a safe manner, shirts consistent with instructions as provided.
• Sufficient visual and manual dexterity which permits the employee to operate safely in a fast-moving environment.
• Standing/moving up to 4 hours at a time, push/pull/slide/be able to walk up and down stairs.
• Schedule may vary but workday can regularly exceed 8-10 hours.
• Sufficient body mobility, flexibility, and agility to lift 28 to 60 pounds, up to 500 to 1000 times a day, as well as lift 158 pounds up to 24” off the ground. Also, must be able to climb up and down forklifts and ladders without difficulty stand for the duration of their shift and walk an equivalent of several miles per day.
