Overview
FWI is seeking an Environmental Subject Matter Expert to join our Real Property Support Services (RPSS) Multiple Award Contract (MATOC) team supporting USACE HNC. You will work directly alongside Garrison staff at DoD installations — providing the environmental expertise they need to conduct studies, navigate NEPA, and keep projects compliant and on schedule.

Work Schedule and Location:
Remote: This full-time remote position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Potential on-site requirements at DoD installations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental studies and analyses in direct support of DoD installations
- Lead or support all levels of NEPA analysis — categorical exclusions, environmental assessments (EA), and environmental impact statements (EIS)
- Interpret and apply federal and state environmental regulations in the context of DoD installation operations
- Prepare technically sound written reports, analyses, and regulatory documentation
- Coordinate with installation stakeholders, federal agencies, and state regulators as needed
- Ensure all work products comply with applicable environmental laws and DoD policies
- Complete all required security and training requirements within prescribed timeframes
Qualifications
Required:
- Demonstrated experience conducting NEPA analyses at the EA or EIS level
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations
- Experience supporting DoD installations or other federal agencies preferred
- Excellent technical writing skills — you can translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable documentation
- Ability to work independently and integrate quickly with existing Garrison teams
- Ability to obtain a favorable NACI background investigation
- IAT Level I professional certification
Desired:
- Prior military service or experience working on a DoD installation
- Familiarity with Army environmental programs and regulations
- Experience coordinating with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on environmental matters
