Job Summary
Miller Electric-Prefab Shop Foreman leads daily shop operations to ensure prefabrication assemblies are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards. This role supervises shop teams, coordinates workflow and materials, enforces safety and quality requirements, and communicates closely with the General Foreman, Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), and project teams. The Prefab Shop Foreman provides hands-on leadership, supports production planning and logistics, maintains accurate documentation, and promotes a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the prefab shop. #miller #LI-JJ1

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise prefab shop personnel to meet daily safety, quality, productivity, and schedule goals.
- Communicate daily work plans, priorities, and expectations to shop teams; conduct huddles to align on safety and production.
- Assign, monitor, and adjust work tasks to maintain efficient workflow and labor utilization.
- Enforce all safety policies, PPE requirements, JSAs, and proper operation of tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Inspect tools, equipment, and work areas; ensure fleet safety compliance, DVIR completion, and overall shop organization.
- Review prefab drawings and spools; plan work sequencing and coordinate with VDC and project teams to resolve conflicts.
- Ensure prefab assemblies are built to NEC, company, and project quality standards through regular inspections.
- Manage materials and logistics, including verifying quantities, ordering shortages, staging, labeling, and coordinating delivery.
- Communicate material issues, quality concerns, and production constraints to the General Foreman and project stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate timekeeping, labor tracking, photo documentation, and production reporting.
- Maintain clean, organized, and efficient work and staging areas to support safe operations.
- Coach, train, and mentor shop personnel to develop skills, accountability, and performance.
- Support standardized prefab processes, continuous improvement initiatives, and waste reduction efforts.
- Promote a professional, positive, and accountable shop culture aligned with company values.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ commercial electrical experience as a Journeyman, including experience leading crews.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting prefab drawings and spool sheets.
- Working knowledge of electrical prefab methods and applicable codes (e.g., NEC).
- Hands‑on experience using shop tools, equipment, and prefab production processes.
- Active IBEW member in good standing or willingness to join.
- Basic computer skills with Bluebeam and Microsoft 365.
