Compensation Range
Annual Salary: $180,500.00 - $215,000.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)About This Job
The main purpose of this job is to serve as the leader accountable for the incentive compensation and customer profitability programs for the commercial segment. The Director is responsible for strategy, design, governance, integrity, and management of incentive compensation programs, and serves as a thought-leader and trusted advisor to senior and executive management. This role also has responsibility for the commercial customer profitability program, ensuring the program is maintained in an accurate and effective manner that provides valuable insights for pricing and other relationship management decisions.
Essential Functions
Owns the strategic direction, governance, and overall health of the Commercial Customer Profitability and Incentive Compensation Programs, ensuring ongoing alignment with business line objectives
Provides executive-level insights on customer profitability and incentive compensation program effectiveness, using advanced statistical modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis to inform business decisions
Establishes and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) for both programs, identifies areas for improvement, and implements necessary adjustments to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
Leads cross-functional partnerships with Commercial Banking, Talent Management, Finance, and IT; to ensure seamless integration of data, timely data updates, and effective communication of system changes or enhancements
Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices. Implements robust security measures that safeguard sensitive financial and incentive data.
Directs system and program enhancements and transformation initiatives through disciplined project management, executive communication, and change leadership
Oversees the creation and maintenance of accurate documentation, including reference/help guides, training materials, procedural documents, and other needed documentation
Develops and executes short and long-term roadmaps that align with corporate strategy and business priorities
Leads, mentors, and develops an engaged and high-performing team, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities appropriate to each team member's individual needs
Fosters an environment that motivates team members to be accountable for results, while implementing the department strategy and upholding the company culture
Communicates decisions, priorities and relevant information to appropriate levels of staff effectively
Manages departmental budgets, vendor relationships, and resource allocation to maximize return on investment
Perform other duties as assigned

Strong statistical skills with proven ability to translate complex analytics into clear executive insights that inform business decisions
Strong technical acumen, including database concepts, SQL, and other analytical tools
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and risk management principles pertaining to banking data and financial systems
Adaptability, resilience, and executive leadership presence aligned with organizational values and culture
Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
Advance level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
Education & Experience
Master’s degree in finance, accounting, statistics, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and progressive leadership experience
10+ years leading commercial customer profitability and incentive programs; or equivalent experience leading complex commercial programs within the financial services industry required
7+ years managing teams and fostering a collaborative work environment required
Experience with incentive compensation or performance management platforms preferred (e.g. Varicent ICM)

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. At Commerce, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $180,500 to $215,000 annually. This position will be eligible for additional compensation through performance-based incentive plan(s) that will correspond to meeting performance goals.
