Overview
Position Summary
Fairweather is seeking a Medical Billing and Administrative Coordinator to support the Anchorage and DAC clinic operations. This position will be responsible for medical billing, invoice coordination, electronic health record (EHR) management support, and day-to-day administrative functions for the medical department.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and familiar with medical terminology, billing workflows, and clinic operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Medical Billing and Revenue Support
- Process and manage medical billing for Anchorage and DAC clinic operations
- Review patient encounters and ensure accurate coding and documentation
- Work with providers and clinic staff to resolve billing discrepancies
- Assist with CPT, ICD-10, and other billing code review and entry
- Coordinate with finance regarding invoices, payment tracking, and client billing
- Support occupational health and drug/alcohol program billing workflows
- Maintain billing records and assist with reporting as needed
Electronic Health Record (EHR) Support
- Assist with management and maintenance of electronic health record systems
- Ensure accurate entry of patient demographics, insurance, and encounter information
- Help troubleshoot workflow or documentation issues within the EHR platform
- Support compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements
Administrative Support
- Provide general administrative support to the medical department
- Assist with scheduling, onboarding paperwork, training tracking, and document organization
- Support clinic communication and coordination with providers, clients, and internal departments
- Maintain electronic and paper records as required
- Assist with supply ordering, tracking, and operational support projects when needed
Qualifications
- Experience with medical billing and coding required
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems required
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and healthcare billing processes preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and general computer systems
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in occupational health, remote medicine, or clinic operations
- Experience working with invoicing and client billing coordination
- Familiarity with Alaska medical operations or industrial medicine environments
Work Environment
This position is based in Anchorage, Alaska and supports both Anchorage and DAC clinic operations. Work may involve coordination with remote medical staff, operational teams, and multiple internal departments.
