We are looking for a passionate and driven Painter/Wallcoverer II to join our team and significantly contribute to reopen our newly remodeled resort in the American Riviera, Santa Barbara!

What you will do:

This is a crucial role in the Engineering department assisting with projects throughout the hotel to ensure all Four Seasons Standards are met. Make sure all projects are completed in a timely manner, and nothing is left incomplete. 

Job duties include but are not limited to:  

  • The ability to maintain the physical property and furnishings in a manner consistent with that of a luxury hotel. 

  • The ability to clean and touch up painted surfaces throughout the hotel. 

  • The ability to maintain brushes and rollers in good condition.

  • The ability to complete all assigned work in a safe and complete fashion. 

  • The ability to use all safety precautions at all times when using tools, chemicals, ladders, or other potentially dangerous equipment or supplies. 

  • The ability to complete all assigned project in a timely fashion. 

  • The ability to ensure a clean, neat and organized work area. 

  • The ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Four Seasons Hotels.

  • The ability to follow proper payroll and uniform procedures.

  • The ability to handle and report any accident immediately, no matter how minor. 

  • The ability to maintain a good working relationship with other employees. 

  • The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff 

Physical Demands:

This position involves a significant amount of physical activity and manual labor. Employees must be able to perform a variety of physically demanding tasks safely and efficiently, including:

  • Frequent forward bending, twisting, and lateral movement of the spine

  • Kneeling, half-kneeling, squatting, and side-sitting for extended periods

  • Working on hands and knees during construction and sculpting activities

  • Climbing ladders, scaffolding, and stairs

  • Using a variety of hand grips, including hook grips and spherical grips, for handling tools and materials

  • Performing fine motor tasks requiring lateral pinch and three-point pinch dexterity for detailed sculpting work

  • Weight-bearing through the upper extremities during project installation and fabrication

  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling lumber, plywood, tools, equipment, and supplies

  • Lifting materials from squatting, kneeling, and forward-bending positions

  • Carrying large materials, including plywood, in asymmetrical postures (e.g., one arm overhead for stabilization and one arm at the side for support)

  • Pushing and pulling carts loaded with tools, equipment, and project materials

Candidates must be able to safely perform these physical requirements throughout the workday in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.

Schedule & Hours: 

  • Schedule & Availability: This is a full-time position, and you will be asked to work at least 40 hours a week. Hours and days are dependent on business levels within the hotel. Early mornings, evenings and weekend availability are required for this position.  

 

Skills/Qualifications: 

Ideal candidate will have: 

  • Previous experience in luxury hospitality preferred. 

  • At least 2 years of experience in related field. 

  • Good communication, writing and oral proficiency. 

  • Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and overnights.
