Light Vehicle Mechanic

Key Responsibilities

• Minimise machinery downtime, conduct preventative maintenance and maximise efficiency of industry plants and machinery to ensure ongoing productivity.
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.
• Inspect and monitor plant equipment as required.
• Repair plant equipment and maintain plant spares.
• Respond to breakdowns and make adjustments to ensure plant operation accordingly.
• Ensure material, Labour, plant and equipment is used as effectively and efficiently as possible.
• Overhaul, service and repair the mechanical parts including engines, gearboxes, clutches and brakes of cars, utilities, trucks and mobile plant.
• Participate in shift/swing hand over prior to finishing work to ensure other employees are aware of all relevant information.
• Ensure that all tools and equipment are clean and well maintained.
