Job Description
Teaching assistant
- Support the class teacher through preparation, delivery and feedback of children’s learning
- Identify, plan (in conjunction with the teacher) and lead small booster classes for low ability or more able pupils alongside the class teacher
- Support the classroom and its learners during lesson time
- Working with the Subject/Phase Leaders to target areas for improvement
- Recording and reporting pupils’ progress and achievements in conjunction with the class teacher
- Plan and lead aspects of the curriculum such as Hungarian Culture or EAP support sessions
- Helping with the display of children’s work
- Support whole school development drives and initiatives
- Provide cover and learning support to other classrooms as and when required for the smooth running of the school
- Supervising groups of children to offsite sporting facilities such as swimming
- Perform playground duties
- Run at least one after-school co-curricular activity per year
- Undertake any other job-related duty as specified by the Head of Primary not mentioned above to ensure the smooth operation of the school
- Be able to undertake overnight residentials
