Job Description
U.S. Bank Payments: Consumer and Small Business (PCS) is seeking an experienced Email Development Manager with deep expertise in hands‑on email development and execution. This role is responsible for building, coding, and optimizing highly dynamic, data‑driven email programs in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, supporting bank, partner, and white‑label branded communications.
The ideal candidate is a highly technical email practitioner who understands how creative, data, automation, and platform capabilities come together to deliver scalable, high-performing email communications. This role partners closely with strategy, creative, data, and vendors to improve quality, efficiency, and speed to market across the email channel.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, code, and deploy responsive, data-driven email templates using HTML, AMPscript, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud tools.
- Build and execute highly dynamic email solutions, including personalization logic, conditional content, modular template frameworks, and audience segmentation.
- Leverage Salesforce Marketing Cloud capabilities, including Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Data Extensions, to create targeted, efficient, and scalable email programs that support business goals.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in email development best practices, including coding standards, accessibility, rendering, and performance optimization.
- Drive process improvements and technical efficiencies in email development, testing, QA, and deployment workflows.
- Ensure all email executions adhere to industry policies, compliance requirements, and CAN-SPAM regulations.
- Evaluate campaign performance and collaborate with partners to recommend development, template, or structural enhancements that improve results.
- Build strong working relationships with internal partners to support high-quality execution and continuous improvement.
Required Experience
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Expertise
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Email Studio
- Journey Builder
- Automation Studio
- Contact Builder / Data Designer
Technical Skills
- Advanced SQL for data segmentation, transformation, and automation
- Strong proficiency in AMPscript and SSJS for personalization and dynamic content
- Experience with HTML and CSS for responsive email development
Experience & Competencies
- Experience supporting marketing automation and enterprise MarTech environments
- Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues and optimize platform performance
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable operating as an individual contributor with execution ownership
Preferred Certifications
One or more of the following Salesforce certifications are strongly preferred:
- Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Engagement Developer
- Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Engagement Consultant
- Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Engagement Administrator
- Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Email Specialist
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Six or more years of related experience in digital marketing

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
