Job Description

Senior Credit Risk Management role responsible for leading the Credit Approval team supporting the national Wealth Management Groups. Portfolio composition includes personal and commercial banking services for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth Individuals, Trusts/holding companies, and Professional Services Companies.

 

The team is responsible for approving loans exceeding business line authority levels and overseeing the management of the Wealth Management portfolio. Responsible for maintaining prudent lending standards within U.S. Bank’s risk appetite and ensuring conformity with U.S. Bank policies and procedures, while supporting business growth, initiatives and the development/retention of client relationships.

 

The individual serves as a subject matter expert for credit policy/procedures, credit underwriting and risk analysis. The team oversees the credit culture for the business line, monitors delinquency, loss and risk rating accuracy for Wealth Management. The individual will lead the team in partnering with the Business Line’s Chief Credit Officer, Regional Credit Managers, Wealth Advisors, Relationship Managers, product, underwriting, portfolio management, auditors, and regulators.

 

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's or advanced degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically more than 15 years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

- Demonstrated experience in credit risk management, risk analysis, structuring and portfolio management

- Demonstrated experience in securities-based lending, residential and specialty commercial real estate financing, balance sheet monetization (custom liquidity facilities), as well as C&I lending

- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills

- Expert knowledge of credit policies, procedures and underwriting standards/practices

- Ability to assess and manage industry-specific risks

- Ability to collaborate effectively with business units to support loan and operational excellence while appropriately managing risk

- Strong knowledge of business line’s operations, products, services, systems and associated risks/controls.

- Considerable understanding of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact the Wealth Management line of business

- Demonstrated management and leadership skills, as well as the ability to effectively mentor approvers and manage a diverse nationwide team

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $193,035.00 - $227,100.00
