Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a Head of Business Partnering Patient Evidence Assets who is Collaborative, Analytical and Impact-focused to join our Insight-to-Impact Patient Solutions and Patient Evidence team.
The team covers Patient Solutions (research and early clinical development), Patient Evidence (late-stage clinical development up to launch) and the transversal view of global R&D. The expected outcome is to augment decision making and drive resources re/allocation across the value chain through actionable insights to maximize value for patients, stakeholders and shareholders.
The scope of the role is late-stage assets of Patient Evidence. Through your role, Patient Evidence becomes an engine for impact, enabling UCB to prioritize what matters most for patients while supporting sustainable and responsible portfolio choices.
Role Summary
As our Head of Business Partnering Patient Evidence Assets, you will contribute to thoughtful decisions that connect science, investment, and patient value. By shaping clear and coherent business cases, you will help ensure development choices support meaningful outcomes for patients. You will make complex topics easier to understand, enabling careful prioritization across research efforts. Your contribution will strengthen decision‑making by connecting human impact with scientific ambition and responsible financial stewardship.
What will you do:
- Own, build and maintain the financial and strategic business case for assigned assets and programs.
- Translate technical, clinical, and CMC choices into clear P&L, cash‑out, risk, and value implications.
- Ensure cross‑asset consistency across assumptions, methodologies, timelines, and financial treatment.
- Prepare and coordinate governance materials, ensuring decisions are supported by clear strategic options.
- Act as a trusted sparring partner to senior leaders by framing issues early, sequencing discussions appropriately, and avoiding late surprises.
- Act as the integration point between Asset Teams, Finance, Patient Evidence, Patient Supply, Pricing, and other Insight to Impact communities.
- Identify risks and ensure they are properly reflected in scenarios, communicated to leadership and tracked along the decision-making process.
- Lead and develop a focused team of Finance Business Partners, setting clear direction, ensuring consistent standards, and fostering a high‑performance culture.
- As a member of the Insight-to-Impact Patient Solutions & Patient Evidence Leadership team, contribute to function strategy, ways of working, and cross‑functional alignment, acting as a role model for inclusive and effective leadership.

You will work in a collaborative and supportive environment alongside colleagues from patient evidence, research, finance, patient supply, and pricing. By partnering closely with asset teams and leaders across the organization, you will help translate complexity into clarity—ensuring that risks, trade‑offs, and opportunities are well understood and decisions are ready for action.
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience, and skills:
- University degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Medicine, Life Sciences, Business Administration or comparable areas).
- Experience in supporting asset decisions in a biopharmaceutical environment.
- Good understanding of research and clinical development process with exposure to asset-level and portfolio-level decision making process.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, through either formal people management roles or informal leadership (e.g. leading through influence, mentoring, or driving alignment in matrix settings).
- Holistic thinking with ability to connect science, patient needs and commercial opportunity.
- Strategic mindset with ability to translate strategic considerations into financial implications.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at executive level.
- Comfortable with operating in ambiguity and navigating complex regulatory and organizational environments.
- Professional fluent in English.
