Job Description

  • Owns day-to-day system health checks across multiple types of systems, troubleshoots and proposes resolutions.
  • Installing or replacing faulty hardware (CPUs, IO cards, servers, cables, monitors / thin clients) for DCS, PLC and Terminal Automation equipment.
  • Interpreting DCS / PLC logic and configuration to support Operations and Engineering in troubleshooting plant issues.
  • Designing, testing and implementing minor configuration changes (parametrisation, alarms, logic, HMI)
  • Maintaining electrical safety (LV rules), Site Permit-to-Work and hands-on task competency
  • Integrates equipment (hardware, software and configuration) in test & development systems to assist minor projects.
  • Knowledgeable of complex automation sequences on the process area assigned (e.g. FCC safeguarding, Coker Interlocks, Road Tanker loading, Tank Farm Movement Automation)
  • Executes Inspection, Testing and Preventative routines for DCS and PLC systems
  • Support Instrument & Electrical technicians in maintaining equipment (programmable field instrumentation, electrical automation) interfacing to the Process Control platforms
  • Supports the FAT, SAT verification activities for minor and major projects
  • Developing mark-ups and testing application logic for DCS, PLC or SIS modifications
  • Maintaining complete and accurate documentation (IACS architecture diagrams, SAP and other asset inventories)
  • Contributes to training for apprentices and early career engineers.
  • Manage and procure spare parts
  • Arranging and overseeing OEM service engineer site visits
