Department Overview
This position, located at McDonald’s headquarters in Chicago’s West Loop, provides support to the Global Restaurant Compensation team in the development and execution of McDonald’s Global Total Rewards Programs.
Duties
Curious about AI and emerging tech, the ideal candidate leverages tools like Microsoft Copilot, Gemini AI, Power BI/Tableau, and SQL/Python to automate work, accelerate analysis, and deliver clear, actionable insights.
Analytics Planning enables data-driven compensation decisions by combining core compensation principles with advanced analytics, modeling, and statistics to support pay strategy, workforce investment, and program design.
Under the guidance of the Compensation Manager and Director, this role translates complex data into business insights, builds and maintains models, and delivers compensation recommendations. Success requires strong technical skills, sound judgment, and clear stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop data-driven compensation recommendations (new hire and internal) using internal equity, market data, and program guidelines.
• Conduct workforce and compensation analyses to inform pay programs, workforce planning, and policy decisions aligned to Total Rewards strategy and financial parameters.
• Build and maintain compensation and cost models to evaluate financial impact, sustainability, and trade-offs, including scenario and sensitivity analysis.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, risks, anomalies, and opportunities in pay competitiveness and workforce dynamics.
• Apply foundational statistics (e.g., distributions, correlations, regression, trend analysis) to support market pricing, pay equity, and program effectiveness.
• Analyze survey data to deliver insights on market movement, competitive positioning, and year-over-year trends.
• Design and deliver recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and analytical tools to improve decision speed, consistency, and transparency.
• Manage and integrate compensation data across systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness.
• Support annual compensation planning and year-end processes through data validation, modeling, and executive-ready insights.
• Translate complex analysis into clear, data-driven narratives; partner with People Partners and business leaders as an analytical resource.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in human resources, finance, project management, data analytics, or related field
- Advanced Excel and Word skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, a strong work ethic, and demonstrated teamwork skills
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines/assignments
- Personal motivation and a sense of ownership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to translate data into clear storytelling and develop compelling presentations for diverse audiences

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $84,051.00 - $105,064.00 per year
