About the Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for a fixed term Part Time ENT Consultant to join the Otolaryngology Department. You will be involved in Paediatric Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital. Duties include Outpatient clinics, operating theatre, oncall responsibilities and inpatient care. It involves collaboration with other Departments. Additional roles include overseeing Junior Medical Staff, engagement in improvement projects and research.
This specific role is to back fill sabbatical leave for an Otology surgeon. Tertiary complex otology skills are highly desirable.
You will be responsible for:

Medical students and other post graduate teaching especially in the supervision of advanced trainees in Otolaryngology and the Otolaryngology Fellow.

Leading by example in delivering high quality clinical care for children and adolescents using the service at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Working with other medical, surgical, nursing, and allied health colleagues to ensure appropriate solutions for complex clinical and logistic issues.

Participating in the Otolaryngology Consultant on call roster.

Attending Otolaryngology meetings : weekly handover virtual grand round, monthly audit meetings and bimonthly radiology meetings

Leading escalation processes

Developing the implementation of research, audit and quality improvement projects if the opportunity arises.

Potential for leading and participating in multidisciplinary education activities both within RCH and which may include broader outreach education activities.

Providing professional guidance and support for a multidisciplinary team
Your skills and experience:

Tertiary level otology skills with an otology fellowship

Demonstrated capacity to work harmoniously and collaboratively within a small team

Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
-
Proven ability to lead by example in providing the highest quality clinical care to children and young people.

FRACS or equivalent College Fellowship, with subspecialty experience in Otology
