
Facilities Technician - FT Temporary
Job Description
This opportunity is temporary on a full-time weekly schedule; not eligible for benefits.
Position Summary:
Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, safety, and improvements for YFA facilities including ground maintenance, building maintenance, and repairs. This position is responsible for prioritizing maintenance requests to ensure that facility maintenance needs are addressed timely and competently. This position requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team and in collaboration with others.
Essential Job Functions:
- Plan a continual work schedule to maintain agency-owned properties.

- General knowledge of various types of equipment.

- Base-level knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction, and air-conditioning equipment to identify problems and identify appropriate licensed trade professionals, if needed.

Education & Experience:
High school diploma, GED, or vocational education with experience in maintenance/custodial services, equipment, and hand tools.
Specific job responsibilities and goals include but are not limited to:
- Ensure that YFA owned facilities are maintained in accordance with agency standards.
- Develop a site-specific schedule with flexibility for YFA owned facilities and plan workday at that site.
- Perform occasional and appropriate work requests at YFA non-owned sites, e.g., furniture assembly, shelf installation, light furniture moving, etc.
- Review and complete site-specific custodial/maintenance work orders that are entered in FMX. Close out work order when work is completed.
- Complete site-specific preventive maintenance as required.
- Ensure YFA grounds are well maintained, professional in appearance and that potential safety issues are addressed.
- Complete paperwork timely and maintain documentation as needed.
- Maintain equipment and equipment storage area.
- Purchase items that are needed to complete maintenance tasks and process payment as required.
- Wear protective gear as needed when performing duties.
- Perform duties with safety as highest priority.
- Perform other appropriately related tasks as requested.
Physical Requirements:
Good general physical condition with ability to do heavy lifting up to 50 pounds
