Our Technical Operations team comprises aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams, ensuring they’re well-equipped and ready to transport our customers to their desired destinations. Key Responsibilities: 

As an Assistant Manager- Quality Assurance in Technical Operations, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our fleet is safe, compliant, and ready for service. By advising a team of quality assurance (QA) specialists, you’ll coordinate compliance, regulatory adherence, and continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll be an integral part of a collaborative effort with aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, and cross-functional teams to keep our operations efficient and safe. 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Ensure compliance with United's Quality Assurance and Technical activities and government regulations. 

  • Guide policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to the Quality Assurance (QA) team. 

  • Oversee administrative tasks and be a dedicated specialist in departmental technologies (SCEPTRE, QAAS, Dashboards, CASS). 

  • Support QA auditors by coordinating scheduled and unscheduled audits, investigations, and special projects to minimize operational impact. 

  • Lead or participate in efficiency-improving projects and streamline QA activities. 

  • Represent QA in meetings and working groups, addressing operational and compliance questions. 

  • Prepare and distribute scheduled and ad hoc reports. 

  • Perform additional tasks as required to maintain safety and regulatory standards. 

Note: This is a remote position with a 50% travel requirement. While the role is fully remote, we prefer candidates based near one of our hub locations: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, Newark, or Washington D.C. (IAD) 

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. 

  • 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience, with a minimum of 2 years in quality role 

  • Strong background and knowledge of aircraft maintenance systems and UA policies and procedures. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office  

  • Strong communication and analytical skills. 

  • Willingness to work off-hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. 

  • Ability to travel up to 50%, including internationally (valid passport required). 

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. 

  • Reliable attendance is a must. 

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications): 

  • A&P License and/or Quality certification (e.g., ASQ, CASE, etc.). 

  • Strong leadership, presentation, and audit skills. 


The base pay range for this role is $89,965.00 to $117,212.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
