Department: Operations and Maintenance

Location: Tor Multimix Ltd, Glastonbury
Description
The role requires a proactive, flexible individual who can also support batching plant operations and be available when the pump is not allocated to jobs.
Key Responsibilities
Operate the concrete line pump safely and efficiently in line with company procedures and site requirements
- Set up, assemble, and dismantle pipelines, hoses, and pumping systems on-site
- Pump concrete accurately to specified locations, ensuring quality and consistency of placement
- Monitor pumping operations and identify blockages or issues during pours
- Clean pump, pipelines, and associated equipment thoroughly after each job
- Drive and position the pump vehicle safely to and from sites
- Carry out daily checks, inspections, and routine maintenance on pump equipment
- Report defects, faults, or repair requirements promptly
- Ensure all equipment is kept in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors, customers, and concrete drivers to ensure smooth operations
- Follow all health & safety procedures, including correct use of PPE at all times
- Ensure safe setup and operation of pump equipment on varied site conditions
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the batching plant when the pump is not scheduled for work
- Support loading, batching, and dispatch of concrete and screed as required
- Help maintain cleanliness and organisation of the plant
- Work alongside plant manager to ensure production targets and customer demands are met
- Carry out general yard duties and support wider operational needs of the business
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Previous experience operating a concrete line pump preferred but not essential
- Good understanding of and site operations and a knowledge of concrete
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical awareness
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Flexible approach to working hours (early starts / late finishes as required)
- Valid UK driving licence (HGV Class 2 preferred)
- CPCS / NPORS qualification (desirable)
- CSCS card (preferred)
