Job Description

Position: MLSS Coach
Supervisor:Coordinator, Instructional Resources and Support
Work Site:Districtwide and School Sites

 

Summary:The MLSS Coach supports the implementation of instructional programming and support. Coach provides schools with the training and support necessary to effectively implement robust intervention systems supported by software and professional development. Coaches will work directly with school teams and principles to monitor effectiveness of instructional programs. This position is subject to grant funding.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide training and consultation services to sites
  • Provide training and support on use of software programs, including managing all aspects of instruction at all layers of MLSS
  • Provide weekly updates and quarterly reports to the supervisor regarding activities, needs, and trainings provided
  • Work with schools to ensure adherence to NMPED MLSS Manual at all school sites.
  • Coordinate and/or deliver professional development as needed
  • Work in conjunction will all other district coaches to develop effective intervention for students, and support for teachers
  • Monitor timelines to assure that the PDSA cycle is ongoing, prompt, and effective. Ensure compliance with all state guidelines for child study
  • Monitor the CCSD process for SAT teams to ensure that all processes and procedures are followed, and all documentation is in place.
  • Provide technical assistance to schools. In the interpretation and use of student data to identify learning gaps and to develop intensive intervention goals and progress monitoring analysis
  • Collaborate with SSO on the student referral process
  • Maintain school visitation calendar to reflect services provided to each school on a weekly basis.
  • Provide guidance and support on the development and implementation of student learning plans.
  • Collaborate with school principals to address staff development needs identified in 90-day plans.
  • Other duties as assigned, reasonably related to the scope of the position
  • Does not perform administrative (building supervisor) duties.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

? Bachelor's Degree 

? Master's Degree preferred 

? Education must be related content-specific Level II or Level III license

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
  • Knowledge of Dine language, culture and history preferred

 

Physical/Job Requirements: 

Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying up to 50 pounds, climbing, bending, reaching, kneeling, driving a vehicle, traveling long distances, writing, typing, word processing, reading, researching information, and effective communication skills.

 

Safety and Health: 
  • Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions
  • Completed and cleared background check
  • Pass drug test if required for position
  • Knowledge and compliance with district and school Safety Plans

 

Equipment/Material Handled: 
  • Multimedia equipment, including current technology
  • Equipment/materials relevant to the job responsibilities
  • Valid driver license and insurable by district if necessary

 

Work Environment: 
  • Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature and air quality
  • Work interruptions
  • Flexibility
  • Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision
  • Must complete applications and assignments within the timeframes allowed
  • Extended work hours, on occasion
