Description
Key Responsibilities
- Sorting and Handling: Sorting materials such as refrigerators, washing machines, tumble dryers and other electronic devices to ensure they are directed to the correct recycling streams.
- Dismantling and Processing: Safely dismantle electronic equipment, removing components like compressors, motors and copper for proper recycling.
- Machine Operation: Operate shredding machinery, ensuring proper and efficient operation to maximize recycling output.
- Quality Control: Inspect and assess incoming Fridge Plant materials to ensure compliance with recycling standards and company requirements.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Report any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets, supporting overall operational efficiency.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized working environment, ensuring work areas are free of hazards.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Previous experience in a recycling or waste management environment
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to recycling.
- Mechanical aptitude or experience in dismantling equipment is advantageous.
- Ability to operate machinery or willingness to be trained.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to following safety protocols.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding role, including lifting and moving equipment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Full-time role based in Toomebridge.
- 46 hours per week (Night Shift)
- £12.79 per hour plus shift allowance
- Work environment is predominantly in a warehouse or processing facility.
- Regular exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn.
