Location: Near Columbus, OH Area (Local Candidates Only)
Pay Rate: $75.00 - $85.00 per hour (Depends on Experience)
Shift: Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm, will need to cover every 6th weekend
Position Overview
Rx relief is seeking a dedicated and clinically skilled Inpatient Hospital Pharmacist for an opportunity near Columbus, OH. In this role, you will play a vital part in patient care, ensuring accurate medication management and collaborating closely with the broader healthcare team.
You will be supported by an excellent team of Pharmacy Technicians who handle medication preparation, delivery, and overall pharmacy function support, allowing you to focus on clinical oversight and order verification.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Workflow Management: Manage the day-to-day inpatient medication loop, executing the safe dispensing of pharmaceuticals and verifying orders efficiently.
Quality Assurance & Safety: Provide final clinical sign-off and safety verification for sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous compounded preparations.
Emergency Response: Act as an active, on-floor medical team participant by responding immediately to hospital codes.
Interdisciplinary Consultation: Partner directly with physicians and nursing staff to optimize drug therapies, troubleshoot order issues, and ensure seamless medication management.
Patient Advocacy: Deliver direct patient education regarding complex medication therapies as required during transitions of care.
Qualifications & Skills Required
Credentials: Active, unrestricted Ohio Pharmacist License in good standing.
Professional Background: Solid foundation in an acute care or inpatient hospital environment.
Technical Aptitude: Prior hands-on familiarity with Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) software and verification systems.
Clinical Expertise: Deep knowledge of pharmacotherapy principles, specifically complex antibiotic stewardship and renal dosing protocols.
Operational Capabilities: Strong operational grasp of safety regulations surrounding sterile/hazardous compounding oversight.
Workplace Competencies: Exceptional time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Location: Must currently reside in the Columbus, OH area.
