IMCD SA (Pty) Ltd is looking for an experienced Industry Manager for industrial applications covering the Elastomers and Plastics industry, who will play a crucial role in our ambition to become more technically insights driven and market/consumer, trends/customer focused. The Industry Manager will be based at the IMCD Durban office reporting into the Business Unit Manager. Person Profile: Targeted Skills Capabilities Have a relevant tertiary qualification with between 5 - 10 years proven commercial experience. Experience and knowledge of regulatory requirements in his area of responsibility. Excellent MS Excel (including VLOOKUP’s, Pivots etc) and SalesForce skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Be resilient, and able to multi-task and work under pressure. Be solution focused. Have high independence and self-motivation. Be a team player – supporting colleagues when needed and working as part of a team is essential to our success. Being highly numerate – giving quotes, placing orders, preparing reports or working with spreadsheets. Being able to spot discrepancies, working with percentages and in general be comfortable working with numbers. Be computer literate. Preference will be given to candidates with current technical and / or commercial knowledge and experience in Industrial applications covering the elastomers and plastics industry. Experience in a multinational company on operational level will be an advantage. The position is responsible for: To call on selected and prospective customers regularly to obtain orders and market information as well as developing business and ensure the required service levels are maintained. To follow up on all enquiries from, and quotes given to, customers, as well as the submission of samples and their follow up. To ensure that the pricing policy of the Business Unit is adhered to and, where necessary, liaise with the relevant parties if our prices are not workable. Handle certain correspondence i.e. direct indent business and general correspondence regarding business lost or gained. In consultation with the Business Unit Manager, plan and implement promotions introducing new products to customers which become available from our principals. Accept responsibility for attaining the Budget for those product groups for which the incumbent is responsible. Prepare own and assist in the preparation of the Sales / Income Budget for the product area for which he/she carries responsibility. Update SalesForce with opportunities. Maintain up to date market information and information on potential markets for the incumbent’s area of responsibility. Obtain and update customer forecasts enabling Principal Managers to make accurate stock holding and purchasing decisions. Expected Qualification/Education: Relevant tertiary qualification in science. An additional business degree would be an advantage but not essential. Alternatively candidates can bring a business degree with relevant deep industry knowledge. Work Experience: Ideally more than 5 years of work experience with increasing responsibility in the Plastics and Elastomer Industries. appreciated.
