Job Description
As Business Development Manager, Scaffolding Construction – APAC, you will be responsible for defining and driving the Ringlock shoring & scaffolding strategy across several key markets in the region, while identifying and developing new business opportunities. You will support our established sales teams by contributing with your practical and technical expertise in shoring & scaffolding and by actively pursuing selected sales leads. In addition, you will build and maintain a strong regional network and work closely with Doka headquarters, country organisations, and customers to ensure sustainable revenue growth. Clearly defined annual revenue targets will form part of your remuneration package.
Based in Malaysia, this role reports to the Head of Sales and has a functional reporting line to the Director of Business Development Scaffolding in our HQ. Key Responsibilities
Refine and implement the Doka EAP shoring and scaffolding construction strategy in close collaboration with Doka Headquarters and local country organisations.
Lead structured, country-specific benchmarking activities to assess competitive positioning across key markets, including pricing, product specifications, finishing, and overall value proposition.
Translate insights into clear recommendations to strengthen market positioning and identify growth potential in each of the selected key markets.
Define revenue targets and strategic objectives in partnership with country management and sales teams.
Lead quotation processes for large-scale shoring & scaffolding projects and coordinate pre‑qualification documentation to support successful tenders.
Identify and understand country and project-specific product and service requirements (e.g. approvals, permits, licenses) and support local teams in fulfilling these requirements.
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of key shoring & scaffolding projects across the EAP region, covering both established and export markets.
Actively follow up on and successfully close identified sales leads.
Participate in customer visits together with local sales teams to support business development activities.
Build and maintain a robust network of relevant internal and external stakeholders across the region.
Share best practices with local teams, including shoring & scaffolding solutions, workflows, and contract management approaches.
Promote internal shoring & scaffolding expertise through one‑to‑one support as well as structured training sessions for sales and engineering teams.
Qualifications
Proven experience of at least 5 years in shoring & scaffolding operations (contractor side) and/or business development (supplier side) within the APAC region
Degree or qualification in civil engineering or comparable discipline
In-depth knowledge of scaffolding systems, including Ringlock, and relevant industry codes
Established network of potential scaffolding clients and key stakeholders in the APAC region
Excellent communication skills in English
Diplomatic and persuasive attitude with strong negotiation skills
Ability to build trust, rapport, and professional networks
Strategic thinker with commercial understanding and a track record of achieving business targets
Willingness to travel extensively across the region
Strong networking capabilities
