Job Summary: The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) practices in collaboration with the Urology supervising physician and is responsible for assisting with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and consultations within the inpatient and/or outpatient setting. This position educates patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments; may conduct physicals, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and serve as the patient’s primary healthcare provider within the scope of practice and under the supervision of the attending urologist. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborates with the Urologist in overseeing and coordinating the multidisciplinary care delivered to all patients in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings to optimize quality patient care. Reviews patient medical charts to assist physician with diagnosis, treatment and care management. Makes appropriate patient referrals as necessary. Monitors guidelines for the management of care and for ensuring that services are delivered in compliance with the guidelines established by JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group. Provides care education to patients and families. Provides evidence-based and compassionate care to all patients as assigned to improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores. Maintains a collaborative environment with providers, clinical staff, and support staff. Supports academic, educational and research endeavors. Attends Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committee meetings and is an active participant in the process. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
