Job Description

JOB GOAL:

The Website Communications Specialist participates in a broad range of activities involving public and staff communications, publications, and electronic media describing policies, programs, and activities of Queen Creek Unified School District. Work includes website updates, social media management and maintenance, ADA compliance, graphic design, and video production/editing work. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Two years of experience in a relevant field preferred
  • Skill in video shooting, dubbing and editing preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to respond and react quickly in urgent situations.
  • Proficiency with current technology for performance of duties, including website platforms, graphic design software, a strong understanding of technical support, and design principles
  • Experience with analytics tools and social media management platforms
  • Sound knowledge of ADA compliance and ability to ensure ADA compliance of the website and other electronic platforms
  • Valid Arizona driver's license
  • Must pass a background clearance
  • Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

 

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 261 Days; 12 Months

COMPENSATION: Per QCUSD salary schedule for applicable position

BENEFITS: As per QCUSD District policy

REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing and Public Relations

HOURS: 40 hours per week and may require longer hours - Monday-Friday

CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, Non-exempt

 


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provides oversight and troubleshooting of QCUSD website platform and District communication platforms
  2. Provides staff training on the website and social media platforms
  3. Ensures ADA compliance of the district and school websites
  4. Serves as editor for the district's website and social media channels, including ensuring content is kept current and is accessible to the public in a logical way
  5. Manage daily posting schedules and content calendars for all sites
  6. Reviews, edits and approves content submitted by others
  7. Performs basic remediation of PDWE administrators, supervisory personnel, and staff
  8. Oversees all PDF remediation and be responsible for PDF ADA compliance
  9. Cooperates with administrators and other staff members, as appropriate, in publicizing and promoting performances, exhibitions, displays, dedications, or special programs sponsored by the schools and open to the public
  10. Performs graphic design on Canva, Adobe Spark, and other Adobe products
  11. Conduct video production, which involves interacting with staff and community and operating all portable video and audio equipment including drafting message and script content
  12. Maintains multiple social media platforms
  13. Track, analyze, and report social media performance metrics to optimize content, engagement, reach, growth, and campaign effectiveness.
  14. Performs other job-related duties as assigned to advance district priorities.
