Description
As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Benefits Coordinator to join our Human Resources team in Austin, TX. This is an exciting opportunity for an HR and benefits professional who is passionate about employee support, benefits administration, compliance, and creating a positive workplace experience within the veterinary and healthcare industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer employee benefits programs including:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Flexible spending accounts (FSA)
- Life and disability insurance
- Accident coverage
- 401(k) retirement plans
- Leave of absence programs
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, eligibility questions, and life event changes in a professional and timely manner.
- Process new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, and benefit updates within the HRIS platform.
- Maintain accurate employee benefits records, databases, and files.
- Review benefit data updates, troubleshoot discrepancies, and resolve reporting or system errors.
- Verify and reconcile monthly insurance premium billing statements and coordinate with insurance carriers to resolve administrative issues.
- Generate reports for benefit billing allocation and internal tracking purposes.
- Administer COBRA processes and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Coordinate employee meetings, presentations, and communications related to benefits and wellness programs.
- Ensure timely distribution of required employee notices and compliance documentation.
- Support the Benefits Supervisor with reporting requirements, audits, and ongoing benefits initiatives.
- Perform additional HR and benefits-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in benefits administration or HR benefits coordination.
- Knowledge of:
- FMLA
- COBRA
- ACA
- HIPAA compliance regulations
- Experience working with HRIS and employee benefits platforms (Paycom experience preferred).
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
- Ability to manage confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion.
