Guidance Counselor - Certified
The Kirkwood School District is hiring a Guidance Counselor for the 26/27 school year to support Tillman Elementary School.
The Elementary School Guidance Counselor supports the academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and career development needs of students in grades K�5. Working collaboratively with students, staff, families, and community partners, the counselor helps create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and small-group counseling services to students
- Deliver classroom guidance lessons aligned to school counseling standards
- Support students with social-emotional learning, self-regulation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
- Assist with behavior intervention planning and crisis response as needed
- Participate in MTSS/RTI, student support, and problem-solving teams
- Manage/support 504 Plans for students
- Maintain appropriate documentation and confidentiality
- Connect families with school and community resources
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and student-centered school culture
Qualifications
- Master's degree in School Counseling or related field
- Valid Missouri School Counselor certification
- Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
- Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred

Salary is based on the Certified Salary Schedule, dependent on relevant education & experience.
