Job Description
The Drilling Performance Coach role is to support well delivery operations by driving continuous
improvement in drilling eiciency, safety, and cost control. The role is focused on coaching,
mentoring, and guiding drilling teams to adopt best practices, optimize rig performance, and
achieve the operators well delivery objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and analyse daily drilling KPIs (i.e. ROP, flat time, NPT, connection times).
• Identify ineiciencies and provide actionable recommendations to rig and oice teams.
• Benchmark performance against project targets and industry best practices.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to Drilling Supervisors, Drillers, and rig crews.
• Conduct on-the-job training, toolbox talks, and performance workshops.
• Strengthen crew competency and operational discipline through regular engagement.
• Support planning and execution of drilling operations, including DWOPs, pre-spud
meetings, and after-action reviews.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and contractors to ensure safe and eicient
operations.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving performance-related challenges.
• Capture lessons learned and drive consistent implementation across all wells.
• Support adoption of performance-enhancing technologies and tools.
• Lead initiatives to minimize NPT and improve overall well delivery performance.
• Promote compliance with HSSE standards and foster a strong safety culture.
• Lead by example in safety leadership and operational discipline.
• Reinforce proactive risk management and continuous performance improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Minimum 8 years related experience in oshore drilling operations supervision
• Have certificate, diploma or degree in related technical field
• Have completed IWCF or IADC (supervisor level) well control training
• Good English communication skills
• Fit for oshore work
