What we offer Working on products services that are meaningful and make a difference to the people of NSW Key senior role within the business in a dynamic and collaborative delivery environment Contribute to innovative and exciting digital projects About the role We’re seeking a Senior Commercial Strategy Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role reports into the Commercial Strategy and Business Lead and will play a specialised and technical part in driving commercial performance, strategy, financial analysis, and business insights to support a customer-centric digital government. As a key contributor, you will analyse digital commercial opportunities, support funding initiatives, and provide data-driven reporting and insights to optimise digital product performance and deliver impactful outcomes for the citizens of NSW. Key responsibilities will include Track and report financial and commercial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement Synthesise and communicate financial and commercial insights in a clear, concise manner to support stakeholder engagement and strategic discussions. Maintain and refine revenue and cost models, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives. Support the advancement of cost modelling methodologies Contribute to the creation of compelling business and investment cases, including financial modelling and scenario analysis, to secure funding for key initiatives Assist in developing strategies to enhance product profitability and cost recovery by conducting detailed financial and commercial analysis Work closely with internal teams, including digital product, platform, and finance, to provide digital data-driven insights that inform decision-making and strategic outcomes Conduct research and benchmarking to identify best practices and emerging trends that can inform commercial strategy On your first day, you’ll have Strong skills and experience in Power BI reporting development Experience in budgeting forecasts, financial modelling and business case development Strong data analysis skills with the ability to present findings simply to stakeholders An analytical approach to problem solving, a curious mind, and a positive attitude Strong communication and interpersonal skills Strong stakeholder engagement skills CPA/CA qualified professional (preferred) Essential Requirements To be considered for roles in the NSW public sector, applicants must: Be NSW residents or in the process of relocating to NSW Hold appropriate working rights for the type of employment offered - Fixed Term roles require valid work rights for the full duration of the role How to apply Please submit your resume and cover letter as a single document. For this recruitment we will be conducting a minimum of three interview and assessment stages that form a comparative process. This will include: 1. Panel behavioural interview 2. Work Task 3. Cognitive Assessment 4. Reference checks Support office roles will be headquartered across McKell, Parramatta and Gosford. We will consider role headquarters outside of the above locations where the role can reasonably be performed from that location taking into consideration the operational, financial and customer requirements of the role, and an ability to attend a NSW Government workplace as required. At the point an employee is notified of our intention to assign them to a role, the relevant leader will discuss headquarter options.
