Job Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for bond projects, new construction, capital plan, and renovation projects from initiation through completion. Manages and oversees a project team including consultants, construction projects managers and inspectors. Works within school district guidelines, establishing project objectives, schedules and plans, in order to make decisions to the successful completion of construction and renovation projects. In addition, supervises district transportation department, and oversees facility rentals.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Serve as district liaison between construction and architect vendors and district administration.
- Manage and supervise all construction projects for on time building construction, adherence to budget, and quality control.
- Organizes and administers the activities of custodial, grounds, trades,and maintenance programs through the assigned Supervisor.
- Interfaces with the City of Goodyear, City of Buckeye, and Maricopa County regarding construction and maintains a positive and productive working relationship.
- Monitors and updates the Master Facilities and Capital Plan.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director of Business Services for reporting of district construction such as new construction or other capital, bond, or building renewal fund projects.
- Supervises and evaluates maintenance supervisor, and transportation supervisor.
- Market the district to effectively recruit and retain high caliber staff.
- Make sound recommendations regarding personnel management, recruiting, selection, transfer, retention, evaluation, and dismissal recommendations and changes to procedures.
- Assists in preparation of RFQs and RFPs for construction-related projects and coordinates with land developers and the Superintendent.
- Monitors Building Renewal Grant projects to successful completion.
- Assists in development, in concert with the district's architect, of plans, programming construction documents for new schools and other related projects.
- Work productively as a team member with the Administrative Team, the teaching staff, classified staff, site-based teams, and community groups.
- Responsible for Facility Rental programs and works in concert with the schools and Business Department to carry out the program and make recommendations to the Board.
- Plans and implements short and long-term range goals for the department.
- Leads in the areas of school boundaries, adjustments, and attendance areas as growth is accommodated.
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, community and staff.
- Continue personal and professional development through involvement in professional organizations and by attending and presenting at professional conferences, conducting colleague visits, facilitating school visitation, writing for publication, and engaging in professional reading.
- Compile program reports for the Administrative Team and Governing Board as needed.
- Produce high quality communiqu�s including Board Updates and presentations as to projects occurring.
- Represent the district in a professional manner, and in the best interests of the district.
- Perform additional duties and accept other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (preferred)
- Minimum of two year's experience as a school/district-level administrator or corporate administrator of facilities/operations experience preferred
- Experience working with School Facilities Division, developers, architects and construction projects within an educational setting
- Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card

Exempt, 12-month position/220 days
