Job Summary: This position is located within the Office of the Clerk, U.S. House of Representatives. The incumbent serves as an Intern and is appointed on a temporary basis for a period not to exceed 120 days, unless otherwise extended in accordance with House policies and procedures. The Intern participates in a structured educational and professional development opportunity designed to provide exposure to the legislative, administrative, archival, communications, and operational functions of the Office of the Clerk. Interns may rotate through multiple divisions or assignments to gain practical experience aligned with their academic studies, certification program, or career interests. The incumbent provides administrative and operational support to assigned teams while developing a working knowledge of House operations, customer service standards, and congressional workplace professionalism. This position does not have day-to-day supervisory or managerial responsibilities. This position may have access to Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and other sensitive but unclassified information. **This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week internship that will require onsite attendance in Washington, D.C. Primary Duties/Responsibilities : Provides administrative or operational support on various projects and activities. Provides and projects a positive customer-focused professional image in all interactions. Conduct data analysis and generate reports upon request in support of programs and projects. Provide a welcoming environment and positive first impression of the office to visitors and other VIPs. Handle incoming calls with poise, professionalism, and promptness. Performs other official duties and special projects as assigned.
