Description
Live a summer of adventure and memories! Working on our train traveling thru the Alaskan wilderness, and assisting the line cooks is truly a remarkable summer job. Between meal services or during downtimes enjoy the amazing scenery on our open-air platforms between the rail cars! Our dishwashers play an integral role in helping out all teammates on the train and ensuring the guests on board have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform a variety of cleaning, storage, and kitchen tasks.
- Routinely washes and stores all items related to cooking and serving our guests on board the train.
- Clean and sanitize the kitchen area and all service ware.
- Assist with food preparation and presentation.
- Responsible for moving product between rail car kitchens as needed.
- Maintain a high level of sanitation and cleanliness in the kitchen and dish area throughout the entire shift by following company and state sanitation guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
- Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).
- Must have or be able to obtain an Alaska Food Handler Card.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs./23 kg, work around hot kitchen equipment safely, and stand/walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to work safely in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
- Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
- Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day
