Our Food and Beverage Supervisors play a vital role within the Food and Beverage Management team. In this position, you will oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional service for our guests. Responsibilities include responding to guest inquiries, resolving challenges with professionalism and positivity, and consistently upholding HAP’s service excellence values. You will also supervise and motivate team members, fostering a supportive and high-performing environment aligned with company standards. 


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises food and beverage staff and the activities of the food and beverage operations and services.
  • Monitors and tracks sales and recommends strategies to achieve sales and performance goals.
  • Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies, objectives and applicable government laws and regulations.
  • Ensure all venues are always presentable and ready for service.
  • Handle guest complaints according to provided guidelines.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to seasonal FOH F&B team.
  • Regular checks of cashier’s paperwork, deposits, tips and correct closeouts of the POS system.
  • Hold pre-shift meetings with all FOH Team Members.
  • Partners with F&B leadership team to uphold safety, service and company expectations. 
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and sanitation guidelines. 
  • Contribute effectively to a positive guest experience while maintaining a professional attitude and appearance.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of computerized point of sales (POS) systems.
  • Minimum age of 18 years required to serve alcohol in the State of Alaska.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid Alaska Food Handler's Card.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid alcohol safety card for the State of Alaska. 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals. 
  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards. 
  • Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
