Job Description

Location: Skelmersdale, North West England Role Overview: The Technical Services Engineer provides operational support across the IT/OT environment, working alongside IT Specialists to ensure the stability and effectiveness of IT systems and services. The role encompasses infrastructure maintenance, cybersecurity support, device configuration, troubleshooting, client support, scripting of data extracts, and development of internal tools to improve operational efficiency. The position also involves maintaining day-to-day operations, supporting process improvements, and assisting with out-of-hours incidents, with the overall objective of enhancing service reliability, security, and operational performance. Key Responsibilities: Support infrastructure maintenance, patching, updates, and routine checks Assist with cybersecurity controls, secure configuration, and compliance tasks Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IT and OT devices and services Provide technical support for client issues, incidents, and service requests Investigate faults and help resolve operational and system issues Produce scripts for data extracts, reporting, and repetitive support tasks Develop internal tools to improve support and operational processes Support monitoring, alerting, and incident response across services Maintain accurate technical records, procedures, and support documentation Assist with system improvements, standardisation, and service resilience Work with Engineering and IT teams on integrations and operational changes Support important out-of-hours alerts and incidents where required
