Permanent position at Twoday | Consultant role with a public sector client

Senior AI Architect – Conversational AI, Guardrails & Open Source LL

Do you want to help shape how AI is responsibly implemented in citizen-facing public digital services?

At Twoday, we are looking for a Senior AI Architect to help establish the architectural foundation, guardrails and governance patterns for AI-powered chatbot and assistant solutions in a large public sector organisation.

This is a senior advisory and architecture role focused on operational AI systems — not experimental prototypes.

About the role

You will work closely with an experienced internal development team and help define the technical and architectural standards for citizen-facing LLM solutions.

The client is intentionally building an open-source AI ecosystem based on:

  • Open-weight models

  • LangChain and RAG architectures

  • Kubernetes

  • EU-based hosting providers (e.g. Hetzner, Scaleway, OVHcloud)

You will help establish AI patterns and technical foundations that internal teams can maintain and evolve over time.

Your responsibilities

You will:

  • Design architecture and baseline frameworks for conversational AI solutions

  • Define and review guardrails for citizen-facing LLM systems

  • Advise on model strategies and fallback patterns between models

  • Conduct architecture reviews and code reviews

  • Help define secure patterns for prompts, retrieval and model interaction

  • Advise on logging, auditability and monitoring of AI systems

  • Support teams hands-on in complex integration or quality-related challenges

  • Help establish patterns for AI governance, robustness and maintainability

  • Ability to work onsite in Copenhagen as required. Currently, for this particular client, you can work from remote Wednesdays only, and are required to work onsite the rest of the time

We are looking for someone who has experience with

  • Citizen-facing LLM solutions in production

  • Conversational AI and chatbot architecture

  • Prompt design, scope limitation and guardrails

  • Protection against prompt injection and jailbreaking

  • AI governance, auditability and operational quality

  • RAG architectures and orchestration frameworks

  • Open-source models and EU-based AI services

  • Technical advisory and architecture review in experienced engineering environments

And also:

  • Fluent Danish and English, written and spoken

  • Strong stakeholder and communication skills

  • Ability to balance governance, pragmatism and speed

It is an advantage if you also have experience with

  • Red team testing of AI systems

  • LangChain or similar orchestration frameworks

  • GDPR, NIS2 and the EU AI Act

  • Monitoring and evaluation of LLM quality

  • Public sector digital solutions

About you

  • You are a strong technical advisor who can work at eye level with senior developers

  • You build frameworks and foundations others can maintain

  • You are pragmatic, security-conscious and hands-on when needed

  • You understand the difference between AI demos and operational AI systems

  • You enjoy solving real-world AI challenges with real users and real consequences

What you get at Twoday

  • A central role in shaping responsible AI in the Danish public sector

  • Significant technical influence and ownership

  • Real production AI challenges with societal impact

  • Collaboration with experienced AI, platform and DevOps specialists

  • A modern engineering environment focused on open technologies and operational AI

If you want to help define the next generation of citizen-facing AI solutions, we would very much like to hear from you.
