Phlebotomy Technician

Responsible for accurately registering outpatients, obtaining blood samples and performing EKG, demonstrating knowledge and skills as appropriate to the age and level of difficulty of the patient (Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics). Performs routine and assigned functions under the direction of the Phlebotomy Supervisor and/or designee. Demonstrates proficiency and understanding of specimen procurement as appropriate to the ages of the patient’s growth and developmental through the life cycle factors (Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics). Maintains communication with other departments. Maintains work area. Assists Supervisor in training. Assumes leadership role and uses problem-solving methods, in absence of supervisor or as weekend Lead Phlebotomist.
