Job Description

Duties Responsibilities Direct Advising Direct advising of students, both declared psychology majors and potential majors. Work with the college and campus administrative units responsible for direct services to students. Utilize DARS, Banner, and UGradRecs to create and maintain files for all undergraduate students in order to record and track students' progress toward a degree and to determine when students need additional academic assistance in order to design individual support plans for students. Organize and conduct meetings for potential Psychology majors. Provide advising and assistance to incoming freshmen and transfer students during summer orientation/registration in person, via telephone, and via virtual online advising in coordination with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Planning Work with the Psychology advising office and other Psychology staff as needed to plan and carry out the Psychology Department's Spring Convocation Ceremony Coordinate guest speakers for various seminars to be presented to undergraduates. Group Advising through non-credit course Create and lead new student orientation classes
