Job Description
Hours:
Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week. This position includes benefits.
Salary Range:
$21.30 per hour, subject to increase based on experience.
Experience: Relevant job-related experience in computer support, network maintenance, or technical troubleshooting.
Certificate: CompTIA A+ Certification, CompTIA Network+ Certification, a valid driver's license.
Education: Associate degree or vocational training in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Clearances: Employment is contingent upon a Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance, paid for by the applicant.
The Technology Support Specialist is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer systems, software applications, and network equipment across the district. This position provides technical support to district staff, ensures technology resources operate effectively and securely, and assists with maintaining district technology infrastructure.
This job reports to the Director of Technolgy.
Essential Functions
- Diagnose and repair issues with computers, peripherals, network hardware, and software.
- Respond to staff inquiries and technical support requests related to district technology systems.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Install and configure computers, printers, laptops, projectors, and other technology equipment.
- Maintain and update operating systems and software applications.
- Assist with maintenance of server and network systems
- Maintain system accounts, logs, filters, and updates to support network security and reliability.
- Ensure hardware and software meet district technology standards.
- Maintain electronic and manual documentation related to system configurations, updates, and maintenance.
- Track technology assets and maintain records for compliance and auditing purposes.
- Communicate with technology vendors and service providers to support system maintenance and repairs.
- Participate in department meetings and training sessions.
- Set up technology equipment in classrooms and offices as required.
- Transport computers, equipment, and supplies to district locations as needed.
- Provide input on technology planning, implementation, and improvement initiatives.
- Assist other staff as needed to support an efficient and effective technology environment.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
The position requires frequent walking and standing, occasional lifting and transporting of technology equipment, and physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, or crouching when installing or repairing equipment. Work is typically performed in a clean and professional school or office environment.
