JOB EXPECTATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Position Purpose / Description |
Under the supervision of the Greenbriar Elementary School Administration and Operations Administration, the Custodial Manager is responsible for performing the following duties.
- The proper maintenance and operation of all mechanical equipment
- The routine servicing, oiling and minor repair of all equipment
- The origination of work orders for major repairs beyond the scope of his or her ability
- The origination of requisitions for needed custodial supplies and materials
- The assignment of work for all custodial personnel in building
- Training all custodial personnel in the building, and supervising their work to ensure that the building is properly cleaned and maintained
- Defining responsibilities and expectations, providing regular performance feedback; developing subordinate's skills, encouraging growth, motivating, setting goals and objectives, and recognizing contributions of others
- Reporting all necessary payroll information to the Operations Department
- Maintaining school grounds
- Removing ice and snow from doorways and sidewalks
- Continually inspecting floors, walls, windows, and furniture
- Unlocking and opening the building each morning and arranging for the closing and securing of the building each evening
- Performing other duties as necessary to ensure proper cleanliness, proper maintenance and proper operation of the school facility including routine maintenance inspections
- Other tasks as assigned by the Building Principal and/or Operations Department Leadership.
Additional Duties |
The Custodial Manager is a working supervisor and must carry their share of the cleaning load. Generally, on a regular school day, about one-half of the Custodial Manager's time should be used in cleaning activities and the other half on minor maintenance and supervisor duties. On regular work days that are not school days, the Custodial Manager is expected to work with crews in the heavy cleaning.

The ability to communicate effectively with various publics including students, parents, teachers, administrators, staff and outside and public agencies is essential. Experience with email and word processing and/or willingness to learn is essential.
