JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Registered School Nurse
HOURLY RATE: $28.84 *Benefits Information Attached
QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed Registered Nurse
REPORTS TO: Director of Student Support Services
JOB GOAL: Provide healthcare to students with acute and chronic health concerns.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide first aid and emergency care for injuries and illnesses
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments (insulin injections, nebulizer treatments)
- Monitor students with chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies)
- Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, BMI, etc.)
- Develop and monitor healthcare plans
- Maintain accurate student health records
- Ensure immunization compliance per state regulations
- Document incidents, treatments, and communications
- Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate with EMS
- Develop and implement emergency care plans
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators
- Work with community health agencies and healthcare providers
- Other duties as assigned by administration

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School nurse positions follow a 186-day fiscal year schedule. This includes all days when teachers are present in the building (180 days), plus an additional (total) 6 days scheduled before the start of the school year and after the conclusion of the school year.
