REPORTS TO: Middle School Principal
SUPERVISES: In cooperation with the principal and assistant principal, will supervise all middle school students.
JOB GOAL: To provide leadership to all staff regarding student discipline and positive student behavior outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
- Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL)
- Minimum of 5 years of successful public school educational experience
- Administrative endorsement, but not required
- Knowledge and expertise in coordination of extra-curricular programs and activities

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Helps to establish and maintain an effective educational and learning climate by carrying out and communicating the educational goals of the school district and the individual school.
- To keep current with School Board Policies, Illinois School Code and state/federal legislation as they relate to student discipline and services, and shall apply policies, school code and legislation throughout job responsibilities.
- Administers board policies and administrative regulations.
- To assist the principal and assistant principal in the overall supervision of students including, but not limited to student discipline, attendance, and transportation.
- To assist in the supervision of students throughout the school day, during lunch, and at extracurricular activities, as directed by the building principal.
- To be responsible for the management of discipline referrals and the coordination and implementation of the approved building discipline program.
- To make recommendations to the building principal regarding policy, procedures, behavioral consequences, and practices related to student discipline.
- To assist all staff members in the development and maintenance of effective and appropriate classroom management practices.
- To maintain close communication with the school counselor and other support staff regarding students.
- To serve as principal's designee during the absence of the building principal and/or the assistant principal.
- Serves as administrative liaison for identified student service teams.
- In coordination with the Principal, reviews, edits, revises and publishes Students Handbook yearly.
- Helps maintain a student record keeping program, including attendance data and discipline data.
- Attends meetings of the Leadership Team (when requested), and or Board of Education meetings (when requested).
- Attends after school functions.
- Assists with other tasks as assigned by the principal.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- This position is a 10-month assignment, compensated for 203 workdays, inclusive of holidays.
- Salary and conditions are established by the Board of Education. The position has a salary range of $75,000-$80,000 based on experience.
